Joshua McClain

Lead pastor

Josh and his wife Sarah were married in 2004. They have 6 children whom they adore—Riley, Elijah, Joselyn, Caroline, Allainah, and Aria. As a family, they love to spend time together crabbing at the beach or camping in the mountains.

Josh trusted in Jesus for salvation and was baptized during his sophomore year of high school. He has been in pastoral ministry for over 15 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in biblical and theological studies. He hopes to spend the rest of his life encouraging others to delight in Jesus.

When he’s not in the office, you’ll find him spending time with family or checking in with new friends over a cup of coffee.

Brett Flora

Associate Pastor

Brett serves as an associate pastor, primarily focusing on family discipleship. He also serves on the worship team, as a leader/pianist, and leads a Life Group.

Brett moved from Tennessee to the area in 2018, to start working with others to lay the foundations for Hagerstown Church. During that time, he met his wife Rachel, whom he married in September 2018. They have a little girl, Georgia, who is 4.

When he’s not at the office, you’ll find Brett spending time with family, digging deep into Tolkien’s legendarium, playing piano/guitar, and cooking in the kitchen.

Clara Mae Baker

Administrative Assistant

Clara Mae was born in Frederick County, MD, and lived most of her life in the Myersville, MD, area. She comes from a fairly large family, with three sisters and two brothers. Clara Mae married LeRoy Baker in 1963 and have 2 children – Melvin and Jennifer – along with three granddaughters, twins Grace and Carleigh and Brianna.

Her working career has been in the secretarial field which she has always enjoyed, feeling that is where God placed her. She also enjoys music—playing piano and organ and has used that talent in serving the Lord.

In her free time, she and LeRoy like to travel. They’ve been to the Holy Land several times, taken cruises, and have traveled here in the States.

Bobbie Schroyer

Custodian

Barbara, aka Bobbie, focuses most of her efforts fulfilling the custodial responsibilities at the church.

She is married to Vern and is blessed to have a big family—3 sons, 2 step-daughters, 10 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Bobbie was just a baby when she first came to First Baptist Church. After 18 years she left. But eventually she came back, and has been here for 21 years.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, but most highly enjoys helping others and serving the Lord with her gifts. After 21 years, she retired from her day job and now spends her days babysitting her grandchildren, when she’s not making sure the church building is in pristine condition for the weekly activities.
